July Art Inspriation

Inspired by video games, July's fridge art was easy-peasy to make for the kids.
They picked out some of the favorite gaming characters and we made a collage around the words POWER UP.

Granted, the little words, "no", "why", "I" and "ok" and the focus on language is still a little fuzzy for the kids but that's ok. We've got the month (or least till our little baby boy arrives) to chat and understand them more.

Wish me a LITTLE luck:-)

Tic Tac Toe, Anyone?

Here is our inspiration art, up on the fridge for February!!

We found this visual online. A mash-up of Tic-Tac-Toe and "think outside the box", the image really clicked with the kids - smiles and laughter equals bonus points.

It's one part simple, two parts playful and all around, a great conversation starter, which is what we need as we think about our February rule.

Would you like to play a game?

In the kitchen...

One artful day, I painted this sign as a reminder for us to keep up with our PLAY this month. When it came time to find a place for it, the kitchen seemed the obvious choice, but where exactly?

I poked around looking at old photographs. One favorite spot kept coming up, year after year.

So many years - so many goldfish - it only seemed fitting that we hang our sign
at our favorite hang out spot! Can't wait to see what the rest of the month brings:-)
